Sit a complete, timed PTE Academic mock test for free — as many times as you want — with an instant score estimate the moment you finish — plus unlimited practice on every single task type. Try it first with 3 free questions, no sign-up.
Not one free test. Not a trial. Unlimited full-length mocks on a free account.
Many PTE practice sites work the same way: you get one free AI-scored mock, and the moment you want a second attempt, you hit a paywall. We flipped that model. The mock test itself — the timing, the task types, the section order, the pressure — is free forever. What you pay for, only if you want it, is the depth of the scoring.
That distinction matters because the biggest value of a mock test isn't the score. It's the rehearsal: managing the clock, switching between Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence without a breather, and finishing Write from Dictation when your concentration is nearly gone. You should be able to rehearse that as many times as you need without paying each time.
A complete, timed simulation of the current exam format.
One honest note: our mock is a full timed test built to the current 22-task format, but Pearson varies the exact number of questions from sitting to sitting on the real exam, so no practice mock — ours or anyone's — is an exact clone of your specific test day.
We'd rather be straight with you than call something "AI-scored" when it isn't.
Reading and Listening are mostly objective — answers are either right or wrong — so your free mock marks those sections exactly, including the negative marking on multi-answer questions and Highlight Incorrect Words. Speaking and Writing are different: scoring them properly takes serious AI analysis of fluency, pronunciation, content and form. On the free tier, those sections get a deliberately rough on-device estimate — useful as a practice guide, but not a prediction of your real PTE score.

A mock test is a diagnostic tool, not a study method. Here's the loop that works.
One warning as you prep: since the 2025–26 scoring updates, Pearson's AI detects and penalises memorised word-for-word templates. Flexible structures are fine; recited scripts cost marks. Build answers you can adapt, and use mocks to pressure-test them.
Mocks diagnose; drills fix. Unlimited free practice on all 22 tasks is only useful if you point it at the right ones — pick your lane.
Speaking is scored on content, oral fluency and pronunciation — and pronunciation means intelligibility, not accent (no, PTE does not penalise your accent). The usual killers are long pauses, restarts and self-corrections. Read the speaking low-score fix guide, then drill Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence and Describe Image daily.
Summarize Written Text must be one sentence of 5–75 words; the essay must be 200–300 words; Summarize Spoken Text is 50–70 words. Break the form rules and you score zero on form regardless of quality. Practise to the counts until they are automatic — the word limits and timings guide has the full table.
Write From Dictation is worth one point per correct word, spelling included, and it feeds both your Listening and Writing scores. It is the highest-leverage task in the test, and the free WFD practice tool scores you automatically on every attempt.
Reading is exactly marked here, so use the instant feedback loop: attempt, see precisely what you missed, retry. Watch the two tasks with negative marking — multi-answer multiple choice and Highlight Incorrect Words — where guessing blindly costs points (how PTE negative marking works).
Eight of the 22 tasks feed two skill scores at once, so practice time goes furthest there. Repeat Sentence and Re-tell Lecture feed Listening and Speaking; Write From Dictation feeds Listening and Writing; Summarize Written Text feeds Reading and Writing. The full task-to-skill map is in the August 2025 scoring changes guide. And practise under the clock from day one — every drill here runs on real PTE timings, so the pressure is built in.
Still comparing task types before you start? The complete guide to all 22 PTE question types walks through every task, its timing and its scoring in one place.
Because the paywall-after-one-test model punishes the people who need practice most.
Full disclosure of our business model: the free tier costs us very little to run (exact marking and on-device estimates are cheap), while real AI scoring of Speaking and Writing genuinely costs money per mock — so that's the part we charge for. We think that's a fairer trade than locking the practice itself behind a subscription. You get unlimited rehearsal for free; you pay only when you want detailed AI feedback against PTE-style criteria, and only for the mocks where it counts.
If you're comparing exams before committing, our PTE vs IELTS comparison and score converter (based on Pearson's official July 2025 concordance) can help — PTE 65 sits around IELTS 7.0, and 79 around 8.0, approximately. And if you're new to the format entirely, start with the August 2025 scoring changes so you're practising the current exam, not an outdated one.
